THIS.. WAS.. THE.. PAGE.. I had just been into the FF for about a year or so (138 was my first issue and I was 10..), having vague memories of the cartoon show of the 60s. While second or third in importance behind Gwen Stacy, this was probably one iconic pages in Marvel history. Reed Richards shooting his son, to save humanity. This was scary, yet so moving. My parents had just divorced, so I'm understanding the prickly scene at the Baxter to say the least.

I'd say that page was probably the one with the biggest "Oh crap!" factor of the 1970s post-Kirby era!
