Back in '78-'79 when I had Mego toys I could never find the really cool ones like The Human Torch or Iron Man. All the stores I went to ever had was Spidey, Supes, Hulk, and Bats (and the Star Trek crew). Heck, even the back of the packages were drawings of the others allegedly available!

A kid I met around 1979 had every single Mego figure made and I recall us playing with the figures inside of his parents' huge RV. Blondie's "Heart of Glass" was playing on the radio...

Wow... I only had the initial set of Mego Superheroes when I was a kid, kind of foolishly got out of action figures after that (except, possibly, for GI Joe). But I do remember seeing the full range in my local Kmart!

I suspect the ones you saw were the ones kept in production all the time.

I do wish I'd gotten all of the Megos when I was a kid -- or just as good, perhaps... about 1979 or 1980, there was a short-lived store in Tacoma called "Liquidation Toys," and they had racks and racks of Megos and 12" GI Joes... and I really wish I'd had the money to buy every single one of 'em!

I remember this figure well - my friend's brother had him and between the three of us we were able to put together the entire FF. Such simple, far away pleasures still make me smile. Thanks for the memories, Jon!
